Hau Mitákuye pi, Hello Relatives, In its recommendations to the State Board of Education for the approval of the newly revised SD social studies standards, the SD Department of Education has removed multiple references to Indigenous groups and expectations to teach about Indigenous history and culture. We disagree with the removal of this language or content. We will ensure that our students will study and explore Indigenous peoples' history and contemporary issues from South Dakota and beyond. Todd County School District is committed to implementing the Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings & Standards into every facet of our curriculum.

Student COVID Screening/Testing Protocol: If a child develops any COVID symptoms throughout the school day, a rapid test can be provided upon parental consent. Rapid COVID tests will be available for nurses to administer during school hours. Results will be available within 15 minutes. Reminder: if your child/children are presenting symptoms before leaving for school, call your primary care physician. *If the student is positive for COVID, they must isolate at home for 10 days before returning to school symptom-free. *

Enrollment Reminder: If you live within Todd County, you are welcome to enroll in your community school. You may enroll in a school outside your community only if your children/child were enrolled in that same community school through the end of the last year.

The Todd County School District would like to remind everyone that school starts tomorrow, September 14th, at 8:30 AM. Busses will run from town on the routes below. If your child attends an outlining school, please contact that school for more bus information. Bus pick-up times will vary based on the route. We have new drivers and new routes, so be on the lookout for the bus. You need to wear a mask on the bus. Don't worry, if you don't have one, there will be masks provided.
