Narrative/Literary Analysis

Personal Story--A story told in first person voice from the author’s perspective.  Based on author’s experience, contains all story elements and ends when the event ends, without reflection.

Narrative Memoir--Story, nearly always told in first person voice from the author’s perspective, based on a single event or a series of related events that actually happened. Generally conveys a strong sense of emotional investment.  Includes elements of reflection, looking back or forward across time.
