This Week In Rosebud

Mrs. Oyate's Kindergarten Unci Maka Experience

Mrs. Oyate's Kindergarten class did many things to celebrate Unci Maka Week. As a class, they planted flowers and vegetables. The kids were very excited because, for many, it was their first time planting an actual seed. The adults did not allow the students to pick up any bottles, glass, or any other dangerous materials. We had countless discussions and conservations. We talked about things that were dangerous for our environment.

The second things that the Kindergarteners accomplished were help clean and straighten up Ghost Hawk Park. The students helped move branches and other small pieces of wood. The students learned the importance of keeping the park clean. The Rosebud Sioux Tribe Fire Department came down to the park and worked with the students to clean up the park. It was a nice experience that the students enjoyed. The adults did not allow the students to pick up any bottles, glass, or any other dangerous materials. We had countless discussions and conservations. We talked about things that were dangerous for our environment.
